Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.

Celebrating 10 years on the Serenade of the Seas!

Do you like this post?

Flying to Florida, we boarded the Serenade of the Seas for a 11 day Southern Caribbean cruise with ports in Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, Curacao, and Aruba.  We were joining our friends Ken and Georgianne from New Jersey.  Two sea days gave us a chance to unpack, settle in and enjoy a wonderful meal at Chops on the first night.  The solarium pool became our favorite place to hang out and relax.
Antigua our first port gave us a chance to enjoy an excursion that included boat riding, snorkeling and a grilled lobster lunch on a little island.
On Barbados we spent a lovely day with Calabaza Cruises on a really nice catamaran.  With only 8 guest on board the crew spoiled us with food and drink.  Two snorkel stops and a chance to feed a turtle out of my hand made for a perfect day.
Waking up to cloudy skies and light rain we decided not to get off in St Lucia......we had a day pass at a beach resort....but the weather was not great for beach time.
Walking off the ship in Curacao we crossed the swinging bridge, strolled among the shops and art galleries, and had lunch at a sidewalk cafe by the harbor.  It was a great place for photography and enjoying some tasty mojitos. Cheaper than those on board!
In Aruba we had booked a trip with Seabob to our favorite beach, Mango Halto! It did not disappoint!

Riding Seabob is a real thrill and flying over a beautiful reef adds to the fun.  After we finished we went to Moomba Beach Club and joined our friends for a day at the beach.  A perfect way to spend the day in Aruba.
Heading home we had two sea days to relax before docking in Fort Lauderdale and flying home.
The cruise was a great way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary.  We met some very interesting people from all over the world and got to see our friends.
