In the Grips of a Severe Drought
The evidence of a severe drought is unmistakable from the air. The pastures are burnt and brown, the stock tanks are mud holes or completely dry, cattle stand around....waiting for ranchers to bring feed, farmers are bailing corn and milo stubble in the fields. Deer can be seen grazing near the edge of the road, looking for anything to eat. The lack of rainfall plus the stifling 100 degree plus temperatures have robbed this area of South Texas of anything green.
Day after day the drought continues with no end in sight!
